■ Istambul (Turkey) – with Turkish airlines
■ Warsaw (Poland) – with LOT Polish airlines
■ Vienna (Austria) – with Austrian airlines
■ Frankfurt (Germany) – with Ukraine international airlines
■ Rome, Frankfurt, Paris, Munich, Milan, Verona… (Italy) – via Timisoara with Carpatair
■ Kyiv (Kiev) – with Aerosvit, and Lviv airlines
From West Europe, using low cost airlines, you can fly to
■ Rzeszow (in Poland) with Rayanair
■ Krakow (in Poland) with Rayanair, Easyjet, Skyeurope
■ Budapest (in Hungary) with Rayanair, Easyjet, Skyeurope
and then take a train or bus to Lviv.
It is also possible to fly to Kyiv (Kiev) and then make a change or take one of overnight trains to Lviv.
The easy train routes are from: Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Kiev, Odessa. Check timetable at www.bahn.de.
As a budget option you can consider an overnight bus from Krakow or Warsaw.
Note: when looking for a flight or a train to Lviv you have to try different spellings (like “Lvov”, “Lviv”, “Lwow”). Because of it’s long and complicated history the city name has now a few versions of how it can be spelled.
